Key City Steampunk Convention is one of the premier steampunk conventions on the East Coast. Each year, we explore a new theme, adding another chapter to our ever-evolving storyline while celebrating the creativity, adventure, and community that make steampunk so unique. August 13–15, 2027, will be no exception!
For 2027, we invite you to step into The Weird, Weird West — a strange and untamed frontier populated by daring desperadoes, notorious outlaw queens, quick-draw gunslingers, mysterious soothsayers, silver-tongued snake oil salesmen, ancient elder gods, dinosaurs that have absolutely no business being there, and the occasional UFO.
Whether you’re a lifelong steampunk enthusiast, a science fiction fan, a history buff, a maker, a cosplayer, or simply looking for a unique weekend experience, you’ll find a welcoming community waiting for you in Gettysburg.
No costume is required. No experience is necessary. Just bring your sense of adventure.

What is Steampunk?
What is Steampunk? It’s whatever you want it to be!
At its heart, steampunk is a world of imagination where Victorian-era aesthetics meet science fiction, inventive technology, and alternate history. Think brass goggles, elaborate costumes, fantastical machines, and adventures in a world where steam power reigns supreme!
But steampunk is also about creativity, individuality, and making the extraordinary your own. At Key City, we celebrate all interpretations of steampunk, and everyone is welcome to join the adventure!
Do I need to wear a costume?
Not at all! While costumes and cosplay are certainly encouraged, they’re never required.
Whether you’re dressed as a Victorian adventurer, a time traveler, a mad scientist, or simply yourself, you’re welcome at Key City! Come as you are, enjoy the creativity, and join in the adventure however you feel comfortable.
What are the convention hours?
Key City Steampunk Convention 2027 takes place August 13–15, 2027, at the Wyndham Gettysburg in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania!
Our anticipated convention hours are:
Friday, August 13: 4:00 PM – Midnight
Saturday, August 14: 10:00 AM – Midnight
Sunday, August 15: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Individual panels, workshops, performances, and activities will have their own scheduled times. A complete event schedule will be available closer to the convention!
What food options are available?
Exploring the Weird Weird West can certainly work up an appetite!
The Wyndham Gettysburg offers on-site dining options, and there are several additional restaurants and eateries within a short distance of the convention.
Whether you’re looking for a quick bite between panels or a relaxing meal after a day of adventure, you’ll find plenty of options to keep you fueled throughout the weekend!
Is Key City family-friendly?
Absolutely! Key City Steampunk Convention is a family-friendly event, and we welcome adventurers of all ages!
From imaginative costumes and creative workshops to fascinating panels, entertainment, and unique vendors, there’s plenty for the whole family to discover.
While most convention activities are suitable for all ages, some panels, performances, or evening events may contain mature themes. These will be identified in the event schedule so families can plan their adventures accordingly.
